01Our head office is in Seville, and the service is still online
Immigration Lawyers Spain is the immigration practice of Peralta Rojas Abogados, a firm with its head office in Seville led by lawyer David Peralta Rojas, a member of the Seville Bar. From here we act for clients throughout Spain.
Being in Seville does not change how we work. Your application is prepared and filed electronically, meetings take place by video call and documents are exchanged through secure channels. It also means we can keep acting for you if you later move to another province.
If something needs to be done in person that you cannot do yourself, we have a network of collaborating professionals.
02The Immigration Office at Plaza de España
The Immigration Office of the Government Sub-delegation is in the North Tower of Plaza de España. According to the Government Delegation itself, since 2021 it has not answered information enquiries in person: information is given by telephone and through the enquiry form on the electronic portal.
The same official page states that lawyers, labour consultants, administrative agents and companies must deal with the administration electronically and may not use the office's filing appointments. So once you instruct us, your application is registered through the Mercurio platform on the electronic portal and does not depend on finding a counter slot.
The office handles residence and work permits, non-lucrative residence, family reunification, long-term residence, EU family member cards and appeals, among other procedures.
03Fingerprints and residence card in Seville
Once your permit is granted, the foreigner identity card (TIE) is issued by the National Police by appointment, booked on the public administrations' electronic portal (ICP section) by choosing the province of Seville and the fingerprinting procedure.
The official police office finder places TIE issuing at the Provincial Immigration and Borders Brigade, Avenida Blas Infante, 2. EU registration certificates, NIE numbers and re-entry permits also require an appointment. We tell you exactly what to bring, including the decision granting residence and proof of payment of fee 790 code 012.
04Who contacts us from Seville
Seville has a different profile from the coast. There are fewer retired British residents and more people arriving to study, carry out research or take up skilled work.
We mainly act for:
- Researchers and technical staff at the city's universities and research centres, including those around the European Commission's Joint Research Centre on La Cartuja and the Spanish Space Agency, which has its headquarters in Seville.
- Undergraduate and master's students and participants in international university programmes, who need a study stay and often an extension or a change of status when they finish; doctoral candidates apply as researchers with the UGE.
- Highly qualified professionals hired by companies in Seville or elsewhere in Andalusia.
- Spouses and partners of Spanish citizens applying for residence as family members of a Spaniard.
- Long-term residents preparing their application for Spanish citizenship by residence.
05Andalusian specifics
For family reunification, the Immigration Regulations (Royal Decree 1155/2024) require an adequate housing report from the regional government or, where the region has delegated it, the town hall. It must be issued within one month and be no more than six months old when the application is filed.
Unmarried couples can evidence their relationship by several means, including registration with the Andalusian Register of Unmarried Couples (Law 5/2002). This helps with the EU family member card and with residence as the family member of a Spaniard.
06Consulates for Seville residents
There is no British consulate in Seville: British nationals in Andalusia are served by the consulate in Málaga, by appointment only. US citizens have a consular agency on Plaza Nueva for passports and notarial services; residence in Spain is always handled by the Spanish authorities.
Frequently asked questions
Your head office is in Seville. Can I come to your office?
Our immigration service is online and designed so that you do not need to travel. Meetings are by video call and filing is electronic. If your case calls for it, we will discuss the best way to meet.
Can I go to Plaza de España to ask about my application?
The Seville Immigration Office does not answer information enquiries in person. If you instruct us, we check the status of your file on the electronic portal and keep you informed.
Do I need an appointment to hand in my application at the Immigration Office?
Not if we file it. Lawyers must file electronically and do not use counter appointments. You will only need a police appointment for fingerprints.
I am coming to Seville for a master's degree. What do I need?
Usually a study visa from the Spanish consulate in your country and, once in Seville, the TIE. If you want to stay on and work afterwards, plan the change of status early.
I have been hired as a researcher in Seville. Which route applies?
It depends on the hiring institution and the type of contract. It may be the researcher permit or the highly qualified professional permit, handled by the Large Companies Unit where its requirements are met. We review it against your contract.
Can you handle my application for Spanish citizenship?
Yes. We check that you meet the period of lawful residence that applies to you, prepare the documents and file the application electronically.
