Immigration lawyer in Valencia, working online

Valencia has become a destination for remote workers, for retirees and families looking for a mid-sized city by the sea, and for international students. We handle your application online and file it electronically before the Immigration Office of the Government Subdelegation in Valencia or the Large Companies Unit.

In short

We run your Valencia application online: we review your case by video call, prepare the documents, file through the government's electronic portal and answer any request for further documents. That avoids the in-person appointment the Valencia office arranges by email. You only attend the police for your TIE fingerprints, and local partners cover any one-off in-person step.

01Who chooses Valencia

Several profiles meet in Valencia. People working remotely for foreign employers who choose the city for its size and daily life. Retirees and families with their own means who will not work in Spain. British nationals who were already living in the region before Brexit and need to renew or replace their card. Undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, and partners of EU citizens.

Each profile has its own route. International remote work and qualified professionals go to the Large Companies Unit. Non-lucrative residence starts with a visa at the Spanish consulate in your home country and is later renewed in Valencia. The EU family member card and family reunification are handled by the Valencia Immigration Office.

02How the Valencia Immigration Office works today

The office publishes an information leaflet that it updates often. Its September 2026 edition states that, for the time being, in-person appointments are requested by emailing the application and all documents as PDF; the relevant department reviews the submission and then gives an appointment at the Calle Diputada Clara Campoamor office. General information is only provided through the online enquiry service.

When we act as your lawyers we do not depend on that appointment: we file through the electronic portal and receive notifications electronically. This does not speed up the decision, but it avoids the wait to submit and records the exact filing date.

03How we handle a Valencia case online

We work online across Spain, by video call. If an in-person step is ever needed in Valencia, our network of local partners covers it.

  • First meeting by video call, in English or Spanish.
  • Choice of route: Large Companies Unit, Valencia Immigration Office or consulate.
  • Document checklist, sworn translations and legalisations.
  • Electronic filing, tracking and replies to requests for further documents.
  • Guidance for the fingerprint appointment at the right police station.

04British residents in the Valencian Community

Many British residents in the province obtained their card under the Withdrawal Agreement. That TIE is renewed, replaced after loss or updated after a change of address at the relevant police station, not at the Immigration Office, as the Subdelegation's own leaflet explains.

If you arrived after 2020, that regime no longer applies and you need an ordinary permit, usually non-lucrative residence or, if you work remotely for a UK employer, the international remote work permit. We help you establish which situation you are in before anything is filed.

05Fingerprints, the TIE and other police procedures

The Subdelegation points out that issuing the TIE, renewing long-term and EU family member cards, the NIE, residence certificates and EU registration certificates are all matters for the National Police. Depending on your address, the station will be Valencia (Patraix), Alzira, Gandía, Ontinyent or Sagunto.

The card must be applied for within one month of the grant or of entering Spain. Appointments are booked through the government appointment website, and we tell you which documents to bring.

06Couples, families and consulates

If you live with a partner without being married, the Valencian Register of Formalised Unmarried Couples can help evidence the relationship for a family member card. Among other conditions, at least one of you must be registered as resident in the region.

US citizens have a consular agency in the city itself, at Calle Romagosa 1, by appointment. The United Kingdom has no consulate in Valencia; the nearest offices are in Alicante and Madrid.

Frequently asked questions

I cannot get an appointment at the Valencia Immigration Office. What can I do?

If you instruct us, we file through the electronic portal with no in-person appointment needed. The email appointment system described by the Subdelegation is designed for people filing on their own.

Where are TIE fingerprints taken in Valencia?

At the National Police station for your address. In Valencia city, Patraix; elsewhere in the province, Alzira, Gandía, Ontinyent or Sagunto. The Immigration Office does not manage these appointments.

I am British and have lived in Valencia since before 2021. Where do I renew my TIE?

Renewals and replacements of the Withdrawal Agreement TIE are done at your local police station, by appointment. We review your card and tell you what to submit.

I want to retire to Valencia without working. Which route applies?

Non-lucrative residence. You apply for the visa at the Spanish consulate in your home country and renew it later in Valencia. We review your financial means and health insurance before filing.

I work remotely for a foreign company. Does my application go to the Valencia office?

No. International remote work residence is handled electronically by the Large Companies Unit. The city you live in does not change the competent authority.

Is there a British consulate in Valencia?

No. The nearest British consular offices are in Alicante and the Consulate General in Madrid. The United States does have a consular agency in Valencia, at Calle Romagosa 1.
